What the site is
I am a software engineer. I built FireTax because I wanted to see how a Roth conversion or an HSA would change my own tax bill, and the free calculators I found were too basic.
Figures on the site are for the 2026 tax year, the return due April 15, 2027. When the IRS publishes new numbers, I update the pages.
The calculators run in your browser. What you type into them stays on your device. There is no signup and no paywall.
Reporting an error
Tax rules change and I make mistakes. If a number looks wrong, tell me through the contact page.
