What FireTax collects, what stays in your browser, and who handles your email.
What we collect
FireTax has no accounts. Most visitors send us nothing.
- Calculator inputs: saved in your browser's localStorage so they are there next time. They stay on your device. We never see them.
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message. SendGrid delivers it to our inbox.
- Newsletter: your email address, stored with SendGrid.
- Analytics: Google Analytics sets cookies and records pages visited, browser and device type, and approximate location. FireTax sets no cookies of its own.
The site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
How we use it
- To answer your message.
- To send the newsletter, if you asked for it.
- To see which pages get used, so we know what to improve.
We do not sell your information or share it beyond the services above. Google's privacy policy covers what Google does with analytics data. Some pages link to outside sites, such as the IRS, whose privacy practices are their own.
Your choices
- Clear calculator data by clearing site data in your browser.
- Unsubscribe with the link in any newsletter, or email us.
- Block analytics with your browser's cookie settings or Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Email us to see or delete anything we hold about you. In practice that means your contact messages and your newsletter address.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy. Whatever is posted here is the current version. Questions: email [email protected].
